George Pickens takes veiled shot at Steelers amid Minkah Fitzpatrick trade

The post George Pickens takes veiled shot at Steelers amid Minkah Fitzpatrick trade appeared first on ClutchPoints.

The Dallas Cowboys made a massive trade this offseason. They traded George Pickens and a 2027 sixth-round NFL Draft pick for a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round selection. The move was made because the Cowboys needed more depth out wide next to CeeDee Lamb. The Pittsburgh Steelers have been aggressive this offseason, trading for DK Metcalf and Jalen Ramsey in separate trades and signing Aaron Rodgers.

George Pickens saw what happened with his former Pittsburgh teammate and responded tongue-in-cheek, saying he’s happy for him as he heads to Miami.

He got on Instagram and said, “Super happy for you, broski!!!!!! Back to beautiful places in life lol”

The shot was meant to be sarcastic and more joking, but there was an undertone of Pickens’s disdain for the Steelers and some of his fellow teammates.

Pickens has taken a few shots at his former team, with him taking an alleged shot at the Steelers on Mother’s Day. The mother’s deleted; he even said it was not him, and instead, “AI.”

“They are the ‘che’ p “st organization,” Pickens allegedly replied on Instagram. “Ain’t no stacking. “After a year, they’re gone; let them n—- go too soon as it’s time, lmao.”

Lit’s season, Pic’ ss had 59 catches for 900 yards and three touchdowns. Throughout his career with the Steelers, Pickens recorded 174 catches for 2,841 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was a significant play threat, but has had issues with consistency.

The real story of what happened with Pickens and the Steelers will never be fully released to the public. Still, it seems that the Steelers got tired of his antics, either on the field or off it, and they were never going to give him a contract extension in the first place since he is on an expiring contract.

The worst-case scenario is that Pickens will be a one-year rental for Dallas, and both sides can move on from each other. In that case, the Cowboys would also receive a compensatory pick for the 2026 draft.

The Cowboys desperately need Pickens to have a great year because they need someone to show up and help relieve some pressure on CeeDee Lamb while making things easier for Dak Prescott.

The Cowboys have a chance to be a real wildcard of a team this season, but it will depend a lot on what they can get out of this new-look offense and the personality of Pickens.
