Patriots send 4-time Pro Bowler Matt Judon to Falcons after contract stalemate: reports | Fox News

Could the New England Patriots be reuniting soon with a four-time Pro Bowler?

New England has begun a new era under head coach Mike Vrabel, with a second-year quarterback in Drake Maye looking to take the franchise on another victorious journey for the first time since Tom Brady’s departure.

It turns out that the Pats’ new situation appeals to a former player, and he might want back in.

The Patriots Beat’s Andrew Guindon pointed out on Sunday that former Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon had reposted a video of his Patriots highlights to his Instagram story.

Notably, the caption of the video (posted by Instagram user @elijah.perry24) read, “Gotta get red sleeves back in New England,” referring to Judon.

The Patriots traded Judon to the Atlanta Falcons on August 14, 2024, for a third-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

Judon had 25 solo tackles, 5.5 sacks and one interception in 17 games for the Falcons last season.

Judon, 33, played with New England between 2021 and 2023.

Judon finished No. 9 in NFL AP Defensive Player of the Year Voting in 2022. Over a nine-year career with the Baltimore Ravens, Patriots, and Atlanta Falcons, the linebacker out of Grand Valley State has tallied 410 total tackles, 72 sacks, nine forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, 19 pass deflections, one interception, and one defensive touchdown.

The 2025 Patriots have a healthy stock of linebackers in camp, and if a Judon addition was going to happen, it likely would have already. Interestingly, Judon remains a free agent with the regular season a little over two weeks away.
