Update: ESPN Predicts Bright Future in Green Bay with Packers Super Bowl Window Open

The Packers Super Bowl window is expected to remain open for quite some time

Each year, ESPN compiles a list of future power rankings. This year’s list looks at the teams that have the brightest future from 2025 through 2027. In a three-year window, the Green Bay Packers are met with high praise.

Jordan Love’s third-year as the team’s starter allows for them to continue to grow. As one of the youngest teams in the league, the Packers have proven that doesn’t always work to their advantage. Looking forward, ESPN believes they’re in good shape.

Green Bay Packers Receive No. 6 Ranking as Super Bowl Window Runs Through 2027

Ben Solak, Louis Riddick, Aaron Schatz, and Seth Walder all come together to create this list. ESPN uses a weighted grading scale which sees a team’s quarterback, roster, front office, and coaching all appropriately accounted for.

It’s no surprise to see the Philadelphia Eagles ranked as No. 1. The reigning Super Bowl champions are looking to spark a dynasty of their own. ESPN gave them an overall score of 92.6, but the Baltimore Ravens (92.1) were a close second.

The Kansas City Chiefs (89.5), Buffalo Bills (87.7), and Detroit Lions (87.2) were all ranked ahead of Green Bay. The Packers clocked in with an overall score of 86.2 which is quite a large difference compared to the Eagles. Even though Detroit lost both of their coordinators, their overall roster and front office make up for it.

Coming in at No. 6, the Packers have the No. 5 overall roster. That doesn’t include their quarterback, as Love was ranked No. 9. The other two contributing factors: coaching and front office, were both ranked No. 7.

All of those numbers are solid, and consistent, unlike the No. 5 Lions. Detroit has the No. 12 ranked quarterback and coaching, but their No. 3 overall roster and No. 4 front office make up for it. Kansas City had the No. 1 quarterback and coaching, but their No. 6 front office and No. 7 overall roster saw them fall behind the Ravens and Eagles.

ESPN’s Comments on the Packers Rating

After being ranked, each team is given a reason for hope, concern, a nugget to know, and a bold prediction. The four analysts each tackle one of those sections, with Solak giving the Packers high praise.

His reason to hope looks at their young roster, “Green Bay would probably take the top spot in a ranking that looks at where teams will stand 10 years from now”. Solak also highlighted their key free agent signings, though both Nate Hobbs and Xavier McKinney are out injured.

“My concern is with the health/availability/consistency at wide receiver,” Riddick said. His claim is more than justified as Jayden Reed turned heads this past weekend as he was seen in a walking boot. Other than that, drops remained a key issue in Green Bay’s preseason loss.

Schatz chimed in, “They had the youngest offense (25.0), second-youngest defense (25.5) and fourth-youngest special teams (25.4).”

Finally, Walder gave his bold prediction, “Tucker Kraft will finish the season as a top-four tight end in fantasy. Kraft’s 2024 breakout included 50 receptions for 707 receiving yards and the highest YAC score among tight ends.”

Tucker Kraft is someone Love immediately took a liking to. With a pair of quality TE’s on the roster, Walder believes Kraft’s ascension will continue into 2027. If so, it would give Love a key target should his receivers continue to let him down.
