INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – MARCH 01: Isaiah Neyor #WO34 of Nebraska participates in a drill during the NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium on March 01, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Green Bay Packers continue to tinker with their roster ahead of Saturday’s preseason opener.

The Packers added to their depth at wide receiver Wednesday by signing Isaiah Neyor, an undrafted rookie out of Nebraska.

In a corresponding move, the Packers placed offensive lineup Travis Glover on injured reserve. According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Glover, who had been in the rotation at guard, sustained an injury to his shoulder that will require surgery.

Isaiah Neyor Impressed at the NFL Combine

The 6-foot-4, 218-pound Neyer originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers in May but was cut on Monday.

He made three different stops in college, spending time at Wyoming (2020-21) and Texas (2022-23) before winding up at Nebraska (2024). In 12 games last season with the Cornhuskers, Neyor had 34 catches for 455 yards and five touchdowns.

Neyor impressed at the NFL Combine with his speed and athleticism, clocking in at 4.40 seconds in the 40-yard dash and 1.51 seconds in the 10-yard split.

Leading up to the NFL Draft, the Athletic’s Dane Brugler said Neyor is “allergic to consistency” but projected him as a sixth-round pick, writing, “Neyor is an imposing physical specimen with the elite combination of height, weight and explosive speed to be a mismatch.”

Said NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein: “Neyor is a long-strider with the ability to separate in his stems and turns. … His blend of size, speed and separation potential is valuable, but his skill level still needs to be developed, which could make him a practice squad candidate.”

Packers Have Strong Depth at Wide Receiver

The Neyor signing comes one day after the Packers waived fellow rookie receiver Sam Brown Jr. with an injury designation. Brown Jr. signed with the Packers in May after going undrafted out of Miami but was limited by a lingering groin injury.

The Packers’ receiver room is crowded, with Mecole Hardman, Malik Heath and Cornelius Johnson jockeying for position alongside veterans Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks and Jayden Reed, as well as draft picks Matthew Golden and Savion Williams.

Because of that, Neyor faces an uphill battle to make the final 53-man roster in Green Bay. Still, he will have an opportunity to show his worth, and fast. The Packers kick off the preseason Saturday against the New York Jets at Lambeau Field.

Neyor flashed as a playmaker in college. His most productive season came in 2021 at Wyoming, when he had 44 catches for 878 yards and 12 touchdowns. He transferred to Texas following the season but did not play because of a torn ACL.
