About our Boston Red Sox News

Latest news on the Boston Red Sox, a professional baseball team based in Boston, Massachusetts. Established in 1901 as one of the American League’s eight charter franchises, they are a member of the AL East division in the MLB. Initially known as the Boston Americans, the team changed its name only seven years after its establishment when the owner decided to rename the team in line with their red stockings uniform.

Throughout their 120 year history the Boston Red Sox have experienced varying success, winning nine World Series championships, four of which came in the 21st century. The team’s colours are red, navy blue, and white, with a team logo showing a pair of red socks.

The Sox play their home games at Fenway Park, a stadium located in Boston and one they’ve called home for over 100 years. Fenway Park is known as the oldest active ballpark in the MLB and has been substantially renovated since its opening in 1912.
