“Friday Or Over The Weekend”: Aaron Rodgers Big Steelers Announcement Gets Estimated Date From NFL Insider

Aaron Rodgers could become an official Pittsburgh Steeler by this weekend, according to team insider Mark Kaboly. In Monday’s episode of his podcast, Mark Kaboly stated his opinion that Rodgers might finally sign with the Steelers this Friday or by this weekend, which will make him ready to train with the team by the middle of next week.

Rodgers playing for the Steelers looks like a huge possibility, mainly since Pittsburgh is the only team that is interested in bringing in the veteran quarterback to their locker room. The Steelers made their offer to Aaron Rodgers right after he was let go by the New York Jets in March. However, Rodgers has not announced his decision yet and has kept the team teetering on the edge.

“I still think he signs in the next couple of days. Friday or over the weekend — be there by Monday or Tuesday. Depends on when [the news] is broken. I still think that’s the plan.” Mark Kaboly spoke about Aaron Rodgers signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers in his podcast on Monday.

Apart from the Pittsburgh Steelers, several other teams also showed interest in Aaron Rodgers, including the Minnesota Vikings. However, all the others have eventually dropped their interest, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are standing as the only squad that wants Rodgers. There are also rumors going around that Rodgers might simply hang up his cleats and retire from the sport.

Rodgers has been playing in the NFL since 2005 after the Green Bay Packers selected him as the 24th pick in the first round of the draft. After playing for the Packers for a good many years, Rodgers played for the New York Jets in the previous season. However, his lone season with the Jets was filled with injuries, and the quarterback put up subpar performances.

Aaron Rodgers Causes Tensions In Steelers Even Before He Joins Them

Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers seems to be stirring the pot in the Pittsburgh Steelers even before he has officially joined the squad. According to recent reports, the Pittsburgh locker room is filled with antsy players who are getting tired of whether or not Rodgers will be their starting quarterback in the upcoming NFL season.
