Braves pitcher to start against Charlotte Knights in rehab assignment

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Atlanta Braves pitcher Spencer Strider will start against the Charlotte Knights Saturday evening, according to the Gwinnett Stripers.

Strider joined the Stripers on an injury rehab assignment on Friday. He is on Atlanta’s 15-day injured list as he recovers from 2024 surgery to repair his right ulnar collateral ligament (UCL).

Strider is the first Braves player to rehab with the Stripers this season. Saturday evening will be the second career Triple-A appearance for Strider. On Sept. 29, 2021, he debuted with the Stripers in relief vs. Jacksonville.

According to the Stripers, Strider appeared twice for the Braves during Spring Training but has not pitched in a regular-season game at any level since his injury on April 5, 2024 vs. Arizona.

First pitch at Truist Field is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
