UPDATE: Braves announce non-roster spring training invites including intriguing bullpen arms

All-Star Futures Game

Spring training is right around the corner and the Atlanta Braves are running out of time to make more additions to their roster. Arguably the biggest need this offseason was addressed recently when Atlanta signed Jurickson Profar, but it would be nice if they added some bullpen help and perhaps a depth rotation arm.

There is still a couple of weeks before pitchers and catchers report down in Florida, so the Braves have some time to make any movers. However, the team did go ahead and release the list of non-roster players they are inviting to spring training on Wednesday.

Drake Baldwin highlights Braves list of non-roster invitees to 2025 spring training

There were no real surprises on the Braves’ invitations to spring training among the non-roster guys. With Travis d’Arnaud officially moving on, top catching prospect Drake Baldwin was a mortal lock to get an invite so the Braves could get a closer look at him in camp. Don’t be shocked whatsoever if Baldwin gets serious consideration for an Opening Day roster spot especially if Sean Murphy struggles in camp.

Some Braves fans were probably hoping to get a glimpse of first round pick Cam Caminiti in spring training. However, Caminiti was drafted out of high school and while the Braves are pretty aggressive with their prospects, it isn’t unusual for those sorts of picks to have to wait at least another year before getting a big league camp invite.

Among the other players coming into camp, keep an eye on Enyel De Los Santos and Chasen Shreve as bullpen options. Both have big league experience and with a good spring training, either player could have a realistic shot at the remaining vacancies in the Braves bullpen at least to start the season.
