REPORT: Max Fried, A.J. Minter hot topics at Winter Meetings

The two former Braves left-handers are among the top free agent pitchers left on the open market.

With MLB’s 2024 Winter Meetings in full-swing, two former Atlanta Braves pitchers are amongst the hottest topics. Reports this afternoon indicate that the two left-handers continue to have a robust market.

First, it was ESPN’s Buster Olney reporting that the San Francisco Giants could be a team to watch for the services of Max Fried. The starting pitcher, who is one of the top starters remaining in free agency, has been linked with a bevy of teams including the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and New York Mets.

Fried, who is a California native, has hypothetically been linked to other California teams throughout the off-season.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network chimed in on A.J. Minter, the long-time Braves reliever who is recovering from a hip injury that caused him to miss part of the 2024 season. Morosi indicates that Atlanta is interesting in bringing Minter back.

The Texas Rangers have been a team linked to Minter, a Texas-native, in other reports.

The Braves have been quiet so far this off-season, but as history has shown, that can change at any moment.

Both Fried and Minter debuted with Atlanta in 2017.
