🚨🔥 DRAMA ERUPTS IN KANSAS CITY: ANDY REID’S SUBTLE COMMENTS SPARK FRENZY AS FANS BELIEVE HE JUST TOOK A QUIET SHOT AT PATRICK MAHOMES

Is Chiefs Coach Andy Reid Throwing Shade at Patrick Mahomes? Fans Think So

The Kansas City Chiefs, who played in the 2025 Super Bowl, are having a disappointing season so far with 5 wins but 5 losses.

If the playoffs started today, they would not be competing.

Many fans online have been critical of Coach Andy Reid and Offensive Coordinator Matt Nagy‘s choice of play calling during games. Specifically, fans are wondering why more running plays are not called. If you’re not a football fan, running plays are specifically designed for the team’s Running Backs to run the ball and help gain yardage while the quarterback gets a little rest for his arm.

Sometimes, teams call “RPO’s,” which are “Run-Pass Options.” This means, at the line of scrimmage, the quarterback, (in this case, Patrick Mahomes), can decide if he thinks the play would be better as a running play or as a passing play.

In a new statement, Coach Reid said that they are calling “quite a few” RPO’s, but Patrick is turning them into passing plays and not running plays.

However, many took this to be some shade towards Patrick for wanting to throw the ball.

He said in a press conference, “We’re calling quite a few of the RPO’s, so yesterday they were giving us opportunities to throw the football so we utilized the opportunities there. Those things end up being as good as a run for you, we were getting four-plus yards and you go with it. The runs are being called, it’s just sometimes they get turned into passes in today’s world. You know, that’s how it goes.”

“But we’re getting them in. We have some hard runs where you just get up, line up and go – we probably could call more of those,” he added.

Fans are now thinking this is Coach Reid‘s way of calling out Patrick for changing to a passing play.
