Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is widely regarded as one of the best of all time at his position, and against the Denver Broncos, in a tough AFC West matchup, No. 87 moved into the record books.
Tied with Kansas City’s Priest Holmes for the most touchdowns in franchise history, in the third quarter, with the Chiefs driving down the field, Patrick Mahomes hit Kelce for a 21-yard touchdown pass on third-and-six as Travis weaved his way through Denver’s defense to give the Chiefs a 19-16 lead.
And in doing so, Kelce moved to outright first in touchdowns in franchise history with 84.
Kelce, with the touchdown grab, had 81 yards from his eight receptions as Kansas City’s season is well and truly on the line at Empower Stadium, and its All-Pro tight end isn’t going to let his team give up without a huge fight.

Chiefs’ season on the brink vs. Denver
It’s a defensive slugfest at Empower Stadium, and it’s one that the Chiefs simply have to win.
At 5-4 and Denver at 8-2, the AFC West is there for the taking for the Broncos, and the Chiefs know that if they are to have any hope of extending their division-winning streak to 10 straight seasons as champs, a win here is a must.
Leading 19-16, the Chiefs are in good shape, but this Denver team won’t go quietly, and given the fact that Kansas City has had penalty problems, this one is far from over.
But regardless of the result, we got further confirmation (like we needed it) that Kelce is one of the best tight ends ever to grace the football field.
