🚨 DODGERS ALERT: Dave Roberts provides crucial injury update on Tommy Edman after he missed Game 2 of the Wild Card — concern spreads through L.A., fans hold their breath, and the burning question is… will Edman be ready for the NLDS showdown?..ll

Los Angeles Dodgers utilityman Tommy Edman was sidelined for Game 2 of the Wild Card Series against the Cincinnati Reds.

Edman was 1-for-3 at the plate with one RBI in Tuesday’s 10-5 win over the Reds. Manager Dave Roberts revealed the Dodgers star was available off the bench Wednesday, and would play in a win-or-go home Game 3 if necessary.

“He’s available off the bench, certainly, tonight,” Roberts said Wednesday. “And if there is a Game 3, yeah, he’ll play.”

After securing an 8-4 win over the Reds in Game 2 of the Wild Card, the Dodgers advanced to the NL Division Series and are set to face to the Philadelphia Phillies on the road. With the Dodgers having two off days Thursday and Friday ahead of Game 1 Saturday, it looks like Edman will be in a good spot to return to the starting lineup.

With the Dodgers expecting Edman to play in a Game 3 scenario in the Wild Card, it’d be hard to imagine his absence from the lineup barring any setbacks with the ankle. Edman dealt with the injury for a majority of the season, and he’ll likely have to manage the ailment for the remainder of the postseason.

Nevertheless, Edman is a key player for LA as his positional versatility allows the Dodgers play him in both the outfield and infield.
