The San Francisco 49ers closed out a short week of preparation and issued their official game status report ahead of the “Thursday Night Football” Week 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
Quarterback Brock Purdy has been managing a toe injury that sidelined him in Weeks 2 and 3. After returning to action against the Jacksonville Jaguars, head coach Kyle Shanahan shared on Monday that Purdy felt soreness, putting his availability for the quick turnaround game against the Rams in question. In Week 5, the 49ers will look to Mac Jones to start under center.
Wide receivers Ricky Pearsall, who’s dealing with knee soreness, and Jauan Jennings, who’s working through ribs and ankle injuries, did not participate in Tuesday’s practice.
Below is the complete Week 5 Game Status Report from Wednesday:
- DL Robert Beal Jr. (ankle) – OUT
- WR Jauan Jennings (ankle, rib) – OUT
- WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) – OUT
- QB Brock Purdy (toe) – OUT
- WR Jordan Watkins (calf) – OUT
- DL C.J. West (thumb) – Questionable
The 49ers will continue to monitor players listed on the report. Final decisions on gameday availability will be announced 90 minutes prior to kickoff in Los Angeles.
