🙏 DODGERS DRAMA: Teoscar Hernández caught apologizing to Yoshinobu Yamamoto after costly Game 2 error — clubhouse tension rising, fans dissecting every moment, and the haunting question is… will this mistake linger over L.A.’s playoff run?..ll

Dodgers Get Concerning Update on Teoscar Hernández Injury - Yahoo Sports

Teoscar Hernandez had to ask for Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s forgiveness during Wednesday’s game.

The Los Angeles Dodgers faced the Cincinnati Reds for Game 2 of their NL Wild Card series. In the first inning at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif., Hernandez was in right field and camped under a fly ball hit by Cincinnati’s Austin Hays with two outs.

Though the ball was a textbook can-of-corn that should have marked the end of the half-inning, Hernandez totally muffed the catch, allowing the frame to continue. Reds infielder Sal Stewart then hit a two-RBI single that put the Dodgers down 2-0 in the early going.

Here is the video of Hernandez’s bad error.

Later on in the game, Hernandez was seen apologizing to Yamamoto while they were in the dugout together. Hernandez gave Yamamoto a hug as if to say, “My bad.”

Fortunately for the Dodgers, that was about their only blemish of the day. Yamamoto ended up going 6.2 innings and striking out nine as he allowed just four hits and the two unearned runs. Meanwhile, the Dodgers came roaring back and held a 7-2 lead at the time that Yamamoto exited the game (with Hernandez himself producing a two-RBI double in the sixth inning).

Hernandez has experienced a regression from his 2024 All-Star season and finished the 2025 regular season with an underwhelming .247/.284/.454 slash line. Fortunately though, his error on Wednesday did not end up wasting a Yamamoto gem like the Dodgers have already done so many times this year.
