In their first two games of the season, the Packers took care of business against the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders. Those two wins made the fans and media alike start talking about them as a clear-cut Super Bowl favorite.
Shortly after those two games, Green Bay offensive lineman Rasheed Walker started talking about the Packers going undefeated. Over the last two weeks, the team has been humbled.

In Week 3, Green Bay lost to the Cleveland Browns. Last week, the Packers ended up tying with the Dallas Cowboys. Those two games brought them back down a notch heading into their bye week.
One intriguing storyline off of the field has been about the future of wide receiver Romeo Doubs. He has become one of Green Bay’s biggest offensive stars and is coming off of a three-touchdown performance against the Cowboys. However, a lot of trade rumors have been swirling around him dating back to the offseason.
Despite the trade rumors, the Packers seem to have a different direction in mind. They’re not interested in trading Doubs, but they are starting to show interest in signing him to a contract extension.
According to a new report from ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, Green Bay has shown zero interest in moving Doubs. He also noted that a contract extension is much more likely than a trade.
“The trade rumors surrounding Doubs, who has four touchdowns through four games, never made much sense,” Fowler wrote. “That conversation was understandable last season, when the team suspended Doubs for one game for missing practices for personal reasons. But the Packers have shown no interest in trading him, and my sense is they have more interest in potentially extending him.”
Doubs has put together a strong season through the first four games for the Packers. He has caught 13 passes for 179 yards and four touchdowns. In addition, he has seemingly become Jordan Love’s favorite target.

Making the move to extend him would make a lot of sense. Green Bay already extended fellow wideout Christian Watson for the 2026 season. Keeping Doubs in town would be a wise decision as well.
It will be interesting to see if the two sides are able to work out a new contract to keep him with the Packers moving forward. He’s not going to come cheap, but Green Bay should try to lock him up nonetheless.
