The San Francisco 49ers have no plans to trade veteran wide receiver Jauan Jennings.
General manager John Lynch on Wednesday in a press conference confirmed Jennings did request a trade from San Francisco early in the offseason, but he was quick to eliminate the possibility that the 2020 seventh-round pick would be moved.

“Awhile ago he did,” Lynch said. “But that was a long time ago and we’ve moved on from that.”
The 49ers may have moved on from potentially trading Jennings, but his request for a new contract still lingers along with his calf injury. Lynch intimated that Jennings’ absence is injury-related and not about his desire for more money. However, he also said that two things can be true in relation to Jennings having a real injury and also wanting an upgraded contract.
There’s still no clarity on Jennings’s availability for the season opener, but it sounds like the chances he plays somewhere other than San Francisco this year are off the table.
