Braves News: Roster moves, comeback win in Atlanta, and more

The Atlanta Braves had a busy Tuesday and announced a series of moves before the evening contest with the Chicago White Sox. Up first, the club announced the promotion of right-handers Dane Dunning and Connor Seabold, followed by the demotion of righties Daysbel Hernández and Hunter Stratton.

Dunning appeared in Tuesday’s game, where he threw a scoreless inning and struck out two. Seabold also made an appearance, logging 1.1 innings, giving up two runs.

Later in the afternoon, the club announced that outfielder Jake Fraley was claimed off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds designated him for assignment on Sunday, so we’ll see what role he ends up playing in Atlanta.

It was a wild one in Atlanta, but Tuesday night’s 11-10 win over the Chicago White Sox evened the series.

All eyes are on Spencer Strider after several recent outings that have been out of character for the hurler.

Austin Riley is still experiencing discomfort and is not expected to be activated anytime soon. He landed on the IL August 4th with a strained lower abdominal muscle.

The New York Mets placed catcher Francisco Alvarez on the 10-day injured list with a right thumb UCL sprain. He will require surgery at some point but may play through before undergoing the knife.

Seattle Mariners outfielder Victor Robles has been suspended 10 games for his recent bat-throwing incident.
