With a new coaching staff along with a healthy Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons, there’s hope for a quick turnaround this fall. Ahead of the 2025 NFL season, we’re delivering Cowboys predictions for every matchup.

Week 1 @ Philadelphia Eagles – Loss (0-1)

The Cowboys’ schedule opens on the road against the defending Super Bowl champions. Dallas was blown out in both of its matchups against the Philadelphia Eagles last season (75-13), and a majority of the Super Bowl-winning team is back. A healthy Prescott and Parsons will certainly keep this game closer, but Philadelphia’s ability to dominate on the ground and attack the Cowboys’ secondary are clear advantages. Dallas will keep it close in the first half before the Eagles coast to a win.

Week 2 vs New York Giants – Win (1-1)

Dallas has beaten the New York Giants in nine of their last 10 meetings. We see no reason to believe that changes in Week 2. New York made real strides defensively this offseason, but the Cowboys’ pass rush and quarterback Dak Prescott are going to decide this game. Micah Parsons sacks Russell Wilson twice and Prescott’s pair of touchdowns propel the Cowboys to a convincing victory at home.

Week 3 @ Chicago Bears – Win (2-1)

Facing the NFC North certainly makes the Cowboys’ schedule in 2025 a lot more difficult, especially with this matchup coming on the road. However, we saw Caleb Williams encounter more issues when pressured last season, and that’s one thing you can bet Dallas will be able to do in this matchup. We’re expecting plenty of fireworks from both teams, but a late turnover sets up the Cowboys’ offense for the game-deciding score.

Week 4 vs Green Bay Packers – Loss (2-2)

For as much ownage as the Cowboys have over teams like the Giants, the Green Bay Packers have treated Dallas the same way. The Packers’ offense is also perfectly designed to exploit this Cowboys’ defense, especially with the mismatches they have at wide receiver. Green Bay’s league-average pass rush will allow Prescott and CeeDee Lamb to keep things tight, but some fourth-quarter magic by Jordan Love hands Dallas a loss.

Week 5 @ New York Jets – Win (3-2)

A two-week road stint starts with a bang for the Cowboys. Facing Justin Fields, Parsons records a strip-sack that accounts for one of three takeaways on the day by Dallas defensively. The extra possessions and outstanding field position allow for a great day from the Cowboys’ passing game, with George Pickens finding the end zone twice on the way to a blowout victory over the New York Jets.

Week 6 @ Carolina Panthers – Win (4-2)

The Cowboys’ defense made Bryce Young’s life miserable in 2024. We don’t quite see that happening again, with the Carolina Panthers’ offense poised to improve this fall. However, Carolina might have the worst defense in the league, and Dallas should have no trouble doing whatever it wants. Prescott accounts for four total touchdowns, with Lamb delivering 100-plus yards and a score in another cruise-control win for Dallas.

Week 7 vs Washington Commanders – Win (5-2)

The Cowboys and Washington Commanders split their season series in 2024, although the last meeting occurred in a meaningless Week 18 game. Washington made some additions to its offense, but the defense is a concern, and it’s hard to see Jayden Daniels maintaining some of the late-down effectiveness he had as a rookie. We’re predicting this is a game where the Cowboys’ pass rush delivers one of its best performances of the season, helping Dallas pull off a bit of an upset to improve to 5-2.

Week 8 @ Denver Broncos – Loss (5-3)

A trip to Denver is one thing, but it’s made even worse when you have to face arguably the best defense in football. The Broncos have everything they need to disrupt the rhythm of the Cowboys’ offense. On the other side of the ball, Denver’s offensive line is good enough to provide Bo Nix with the time he needs to throw. All of that propels the Broncos to a home win over the Cowboys.

Week 9 vs Arizona Cardinals – Loss (5-4)

The Arizona Cardinals might be one of the most underrated teams heading into the 2025 NFL season. In a return to Texas for quarterback Kyler Murray, he’ll pepper Marvin Harrison Jr. and Trey McBride with targets and there’ll be no answer from the Cowboys’ defense. A fourth-quarter interception by Prescott, paired with a first-half fumble by Javonte Williams, will make the difference in a heartbreaking loss at home for Dallas.

Arizona Cardinals 23, Dallas Cowboys 21

Week 11 @ Las Vegas Raiders – Win (6-4)

After consecutive losses thrust Dallas back toward being a fringe playoff contender, they now rebound with a trip to Las Vegas. The Raiders’ secondary is probably the worst in the NFL, limiting what Maxx Crosby can do against the Cowboys’ offensive line. Lamb and Jake Ferguson combine for over 160 receiving yards, and they each find the end zone in a decisive victory over the Raiders.

Week 12 vs Philadelphia Eagles – Loss (6-5)

While anything can happen in rivalry games, superior teams usually win most football games. Philadelphia has a much better defense and offensive line than Dallas, giving it the ability to control time of possession and limit the Cowboys’ big-play opportunities. Both units improve significantly, which allows Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley to combine for four total touchdowns to complete the season sweep of the Cowboys.

Week 13 vs Kansas City Chiefs – Loss (6-6)

This is the toughest stretch on the Cowboys’ schedule, facing three of the best NFL teams in consecutive weeks. The Kansas City Chiefs will be a heavy favorite in the matchup, but Parsons can at least be a game-wrecker against the Chiefs’ offensive line. It’s going to be a closer battle than people expect, with Prescott nearly going score-for-score with Patrick Mahomes for three quarters. In the fourth, though, Mahomes comes through on two final drives to wipe out the Cowboys’ hopes for a season-defining victory.

Kansas City Chiefs 28, Dallas Cowboys 24

Week 14 @ Detroit Lions – Loss (6-7)

Make it three consecutive losses for Dallas. A road trip to Michigan ends badly, with the Detroit Lions controlling this game from start to finish. Prescott has two turnovers, including an interception, and is sacked five times. Meanwhile, Detroit’s run game does whatever it wants to the Cowboys’ front seven. It’s at this point that the playoff hopes in Dallas really start fading.

Week 15 vs Minnesota Vikings – Loss (6-8)

Not only is Dallas facing elite competition during this stretch, but it’s also squaring off against top-shelf defenses. Brian Flores’ scheme can cause problems for Prescott, even with the receiver tandem of Lamb and Pickens at least providing the Cowboys an advantage over the Vikings’ secondary. Ultimately, in a close game, the Cowboys’ pass rush cannot get home on third down, which allows J.J. McCarthy and Justin Jefferson to hand Dallas its fourth consecutive loss.

Week 16 vs Los Angeles Chargers – Win (7-8)

The Cowboys’ losing streak ends at four games. On paper, the Los Angeles Chargers’ offensive line and coaching staff provide a path to victory. However, this late in the year, pressure is mounting on both Prescott and head coach Brian Schottenheimer to try and salvage a winning record. In the final game of the season at AT&T Stadium, the Cowboys deliver a victory on a game-winner by Brandon Aubrey.

Week 17 @ Washington Commanders – Loss (7-9)

A winning record for the Cowboys is snuffed out by Jayden Daniels, who gets his revenge for the early-season loss in Dallas. A more cohesive Commanders offensive line provides its MVP-caliber quarterback with the time he needs to hit Terry McLaurin deep multiple times against this Cowboys secondary. Paired with the inability of Dallas to create manageable third-down opportunities, thanks to a non-existent rushing attack, Dallas picks up its ninth loss of the year.

Washington Commanders 28, Dallas Cowboys 23

Week 18 @ New York Giants – Win (8-9)

For the second consecutive season, it will be a meaningless game for Dallas when it is out of playoff contention. Both teams will likely have nothing to play for in the regular-season finale, but the Cowboys at least have a more talented roster. Prescott and Lamb push the Cowboys out to a two-score lead at halftime, with the backups taking over late.
