BREAKING: Jerry’s Cowboys Leak Shocking Details About Travis Trade

Jerry's Cowboys Leak Information On Travis Trade

FRISCO – Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones cannot help himself.

A national report features a video that shows Jerry inside his helicopter.

It mentions his friendship with Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, the Pro Football Hall of Famer who played for the Cowboys from 1995-99 while winning a Super Bowl ring.

And it makes a connection there between the Cowboys and Colorado two-way Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.

“I’ve heard Jerry really likes Travis Hunter,” The Athletic’s Dianna Russini said in a video clip from her Friday episode of the “Scoop City” podcast.

And … the internet goes wild.

In advance of the April 24 NFL Draft, when “America’s Team” holds the No. 12 overall pick, there has been entertaining media speculation about the concept of a blockbuster trade-up to secure the Hunter.

We’ve explored the idea here. How much would it cost?

It makes sense to look at a fair price.

Others have explored it because it would be “spicy.”

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah has urged the Cowboys to get creative and make a move up the board because, he said,  “I miss the days when the Cowboys were aggressive & fun,” Jeremiah wrote on his social media. “Spice it up. Trade up for Travis Hunter.”

It does not make sense to do this for “spice.”

Dallas would need to get into the top 3 slots to make this happen, and Hunter would likely start at cornerback from Day 1 for new head coach Brian Schottenheimer and might do the same at receiver.

But the question at this still-early stage isn’t about Hunter’s talent.

And it’s not about Dallas’ interest, which is at the same level as 31 other teams’ interest.

The question is, why did somebody inside The Star leak this information to The Athletic?

That’s not football. That’s marketing.

And we hope Jerry didn’t waste too much football time planting this marketing seed.
