Braves Manager Provides Major Update on $100 Million Star’s Return

The MLB world has seen what Ronald Acuna Jr. can do when he’s at full strength. The Braves want to make sure the former N.L. MVP is back at that level before he returns from the IL.

Back in his historic 2023 season, Acuna accomplished something that had never been done before when he finished the campaign with 41 homers and 73 stolen bases. The four-time All-Star rounded out his ridiculous stat line with 106 RBI, 149 runs, and a 1.012 OPS across 159 games that year.

As most are fully aware, Acuna’s 2024 season unfortunately came to an abrupt end on May, 26 when he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee. Less than three full years earlier, Acuna dealt with the same injury to his other knee.

Snitker asserted that when it comes to being ready to produce at the plate “he’s (Acuna) probably ready to go right now.” The veteran manager added Acuna is still trying to hit some check marks when it comes to “maneuvering in the outfield” and “cutting the bases.”

When Acuna returns, the Braves staff wants to “get him back whole” according to Snitker. That’s certainly understandable, as the team needs him to “stay out there on the field every day.”

The Braves have been through this process twice with Acuna, and they obviously want to do it right.

Acuna is largely expected to be ready to return by mid-May.
