The San Francisco 49ers have had a roller coaster 2024 season. The 49ers once again lost a game that they should not have against the Seattle Seahawks at home by a final score of 20-17.
With the loss, San Francisco dropped to 5-5 on the season and Seattle improved to 5-5 on the season. With the loss, the San Francisco 49ers dropped to 1-3 in NFC West divisional play and the Seattle Seahawks improved to 1-2 in NFC West divisional play.
San Francisco 49ers Fans Want Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Fired After Latest Loss Against the Seattle Seahawks
There are a lot of fans who are fed up with the 49ers head coach. If they were to miss the playoffs after falling short in the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs a season ago, would they decide to fire Kyle Shanahan? Some fans want him fired. This is what they said after the loss against the Seahawks:
Fire Kyle Shanahan

Losing to Geno Smith is crazy

Give Saleh HC money to run the defense please. I can’t take it anymore. Wilkes pissed me off but at least he made adjustments. And O-line should practice not holding.

Kyle Shanahan proves week in and week out that he is the most overrated coach in the NFL. 17 points at home vs Seattle with one of the best rosters in the NFL is absolutely pathetic

The odds are they wouldn’t fire him at the end of the season. The San Francisco 49ers will have to win the division to make the playoffs or they are probably not getting in.
Division Standings
At this point, the Arizona Cardinals lead the NFC West with a 6-4 record, and everyone else is 5-5. The Los Angeles Rams and the Seahawks have looked better at times this season than the San Francisco 49ers have.
Next week, San Francisco will head on the road and face the Green Bay Packers, who are 7-3. There is a chance that the 49ers and Cardinals matchup in Week 18 will decide the NFC West division title. If they were to miss the playoffs this season, all eyes would be on head coach Kyle Shanahan and also quarterback Brock Purdy as well.
