⚾⚾⚾ DODGERS LINEUP SHOCKER: Dodgers scratch Ben Rortvedt from Thursday’s game vs Diamondbacks, insiders hint there’s more to the decision than a simple lineup tweak, and fans are buzzing over whether this sudden move signals bigger clubhouse drama or a strategic shakeup ahead of a crucial stretch.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have scratched catcher Ben Rortvedt from Thursday’s lineup against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Dalton Rushing has replaced him and is batting ninth.

Here’s the new lineup:

  1. Shohei Ohtani, DH
  2. Mookie Betts, SS
  3. Teoscar Hernandez, RF
  4. Freddie Freeman, 1B
  5. Andy Pages, CF
  6. Michael Conforto, LF
  7. Miguel Rojas, 2B
  8. Kiké Hernandez, 3B
  9. Dalton Rushing, C

While Rortvedt was initially listed as the starting catcher, it’s possible that was just a mistake. Either way, Rushing is getting the start for Thursday’s series finale as LA looks to clinch the National League West.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto is taking the mound for LA for his final start of the regular season. The Dodgers will be going up against a bullpen game for the Diamondbacks, with left-hander Jalen Beeks acting as the opener.

Rushing has appeared in 49 games this season, slashing .188/.248/.289 with three home runs, 21 RBIs and an OPS of .537. Since coming off the injured list, he’s gone 1-for-7.
