Jadeveon Clowney didn’t participate in an offseason program, training camp, or preseason action
Still, when the Dallas Cowboys face the Chicago Bears on Sunday, the veteran pass rusher says he’ll be ready to go.
“I do expect to play, but I don’t know a snap count. That’s up to the coaches. I remember I walked into Tennessee Week 1 [in 2020] and played like 40 snaps in the first game, and we played in Mile High Denver. So, it’s nothing new to me. It’s football. Just go out there, be physical, play your game. If you get tired, that’s why there’s other guys on your team.”
The Cowboys signed Clowney to bolster a defense still adjusting to life without Micah Parsons, who was traded earlier this offseason.
At 32, the former No. 1 overall pick brings experience and versatility to Brian Schottenheimer’s defensive unit.
How much he plays against Chicago will be determined by the coaching staff, but Clowney has made it clear: he’s ready to contribute immediately
