The Green Bay Packers defense looks scary.

With Micah Parsons on board, it might be the reason they get to a Super Bowl this season.

They’re already off to a start that some statistics say is the best by any defense through two weeks in the Super Bowl era.

In each of the first two weeks, the Packers have totaled at least four sacks, allowed 60 or fewer rushing yards and allowed 200 or fewer net passing yards.

Never before has an NFL team in the Super Bowl era done that in both Weeks 1 and 2, according to OptaStats.

The Packers did it in Week 1 to last season’s most explosive offense, the Detroit Lions. There was some speculation that the lack of offensive coordinator Ben Johnson (now the Bears’ head coach) may have been the main culprit. But after another week of evidence, it seems Green Bay’s defense might just be that dominant.

Green Bay shut down the Washington Commanders and second-year QB phenom Jayden Daniels on Thursday night. The short week didn’t bother the Packers.

Their cornerback room was the biggest question heading into the season, but Keisean Nixon looks ready to be the new CB1 after the departure of Jaire Alexander for Baltimore.

The Packers’ offense is solid, too, with Josh Jacobs on his rushing TD streak and Jordan Love continuing to come into his own.

If the defense keeps playing this way, the offense won’t even be that important. The Packers may have found their new recipe for success.
