The New York Giants (0-1) head down to Arlington, Texas to face their long-time NFC East rivals, the Dallas Cowboys (0-1), this Sunday afternoon.
Here are six things to know before the Week 2 matchup.
The series
This will be the 127th meeting between the Giants and Cowboys (including postseason) since 1960, when Dallas entered the NFL. The Cowboys lead the all-time regular season series, 77-46-2. The Giants won the only postseason meeting in the 2007 NFC Divisional Playoffs.

Dallas has won 15 of the last 16 meetings, including the last eight, dating back to 2016. The eight-game winning streak is the longest active in the NFL.
This will be the first game between the two on a Sunday since 2023.
Last season, the Cowboys swept the series. First with a win on Thursday Night Football, 20-15, in Week 4 at MetLife Stadium, followed by a 27-20 win on Thanksgiving Day at AT&T Stadium.
Looking for their first wins
The Giants lost their 2025 season opener, 21-6, against the Commanders in Washington. The Cowboys lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, 24-20, on the road in the NFL’s Kickoff Classic last Thursday night.

The Giants will host the Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday night at MetLife Stadium. Dallas will head to Chicago to face the Bears on Sunday afternoon at Soldier Field.
Who’s new in the rivalry
The Giants have three new quarterbacks: veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, and rookie Jaxson Dart. Also new are cornerback Paulson Adebo and safety Jevon Holland. Other key rookies are linebacker Abdul Carter, running back Cam Skattebo, and offensive tackle Marcus Mbow.
This will be rookie head coach Brian Schottenheimer’s home debut. The Cowboys have several new veteran weapons on offense, such as wide receiver George Pickens and running backs Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders. Defensive additions include defensive lineman Kenny Clark, cornerback Kaiim Elam, linebacker Kenneth Murray, and defensive end Dante Fowler. Key rookies include guard Tyler Booker and running back Jaydon Blue.

Stats to be aware of
The six points scored by the Giants were the lowest of any NFL team in Week 1.
Dallas converted on 63.6 percent of their third downs in their Week 1 game against the Eagles. The Giants converted on just 25 percent of their attempts (4-for-16) in Week 1.
The Giants allowed 220 yards on the ground to Washington in Week 1, second-most in the league.
In Week 1, the Dallas offense did not have one three-and-out drive. They were one of four teams without a three-and-out possession in Week 1. The Panthers, Colts, and Dolphins were the others.
Beasts of the East
The Cowboys may have the longest NFC Championship Game drought (29 years) of any of the four NFC East teams, but Dallas’ 18 wins against its division are tied with Buffalo for second in the NFL over the last four-plus seasons. Kansas City is first with 20.

The Eagles have 17 division wins over that period. The Commanders have 12. The Giants? They have the fewest — five.
