Massive Shakeup Brewing Yankees Tipped to Replace Aaron Boone With Prospect’s Dad in Stunning Move

Yankees Predicted to Replace Aaron Boone With Top Prospects Dad

For some reason, the seat is still hot for Aaron Boone, the New York Yankees skipper.

Boone has really done nothing but win during his time with the Yankees, outside of completing the ultimate goal of winning it all. However, besides that, he’s been one of the better managers in Major League Baseball, in terms of record.

He owns a career 680-491 record, good for a win percentage of .581.

Despite that, some believe that he’s still one of the worst managers in baseball, including Christopher Kline of FanSided. He ranked him as one of the worst five managers in the league, also noting that the Yankees could replace him with a prospect’s father.

With youngster George Lombard Jr. expected to make his debut sometime in the near future, Kline wants the Yankees to go out and hire his father, George Lombard.

“Aaron Boone is the only manager from a contending team on this list. On the surface, he’s 12 games above .500 and within striking distance of first place. He has a .580 career winning percentage, which is on the higher end. He has eight winning seasons in eight years leading the New York Yankees bench. So what’s the deal? Why is he so maligned in the Bronx and elsewhere?

“Well, it’s simple. He’s coaching the Yankees, which means we need to grade on a curve. New York has a level of financial backing and organizational pedigree that is unmatched in the American League. The Yankees will almost always be able to afford a contending roster. After whiffing on Juan Soto, the Yankees turned around and handed out a third of a billion dollars to Max Fried, Cody Bellinger, Paul Goldschmidt and others. New York was never going to fall far in the standings,” he wrote .

Is George Lombard the Right Choice?

Lombard is currently a bench coach for the Detroit Tigers and is well respected around MLB. However, believing that hiring a player’s father would be the right idea would be a big question.

While that doesn’t take away from anything that either Lombard is in their own right, there could be some issues with that, and knowing New York Yankees fans, they wouldn’t be too happy with any issues arising because of that.

Does Aaron Boone Need to Leave?

Some insiders believe that Boone has to go for the New York Yankees because of his inability to win games against above-average teams.

The Yankees have struggled against the best of the best this year, but they also made it to the World Series just a season ago.

For Joel Sherman, that doesn’t mean much. In fact, he’s starting to get fed up with Boone and stated that he needs to show him that they can win games, not tell him they can.

“Or they could have a 2-10 two weeks. And we’re talking about can they hold off the Rangers and Royals? Boone had taken recently to saying, ‘Everything is words. We have to do it.’ 2025 has not been a season where they have done it against good teams.

“And essentially during his entire tenure, which started the second year of the Judge era in 2018, when they face a good team, his team is not as tactically strong or mentally strong as these other teams. Don’t tell me. Show me,” Sherman said .
