The 2025 football season officially began with the Dallas Cowboys taking on the Philadelphia Eagles.
Singer Laurin Talese had a big part of the game before it started, but not many inside Lincoln Financial Field appreciated it.
Talese’s rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing’ left NFL fans divided ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles’ season opener.
The jazz songstress took center stage, but because the song is also known as the “Black National Anthem,” she found herself being booed.
“Big surprise, Philadelphia fans don’t give a fuck about or respect the “Black National Anthem”. Philly, keepin it classy.. as always,” one fan said.

This was the same song that was belted out at the Super Bowl as well.
The Philadelphia Eagles have been able to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX win for the past seven months, and the big day finally arrived as they hung a championship banner to the rafters at Lincoln Financial Field.
They unveiled the latest symbol of their big win on Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys in the Week 1 season opener.
The team would love to send the fan base home happy by defeating their most hated rival.
