🚨COWBOYS JUST ADDED A MONSTER: The draft may be over, but the Dallas Cowboys might’ve pulled off one of the wildest post-draft steals yet—landing a 343-pound “wall of humanity” who literally bends defensive lines. No pick, no spotlight… just raw power and upside, and insiders are already whispering this UDFA isn’t built like anyone else on the field.

The Dallas Cowboys wrapped up an NFL draft that was widely hailed as a success this weekend, with the acquisition of safety Caleb Downs among the chief reasons for that outlook. But once the draft was over, the Cowboys’ work was not done–the team still had the always-fascinating process of bargaining with an signing undrafted free agents to get through, an area at which the Cowboys have excelled in recent years.

While there were some big names who landed with Dallas, most notably Baylor tight end Michael Trigg, who was expected to be drafted, there was no one quite so big as Sidney Fugar, Trigg’s teammate with the Bears. Fugar is an offensive lineman who has primarily worked as a left tackle, though he has played on the interior, too. The Cowboys are hoping to find some versatile depth pieces for the line.

Fugar stands out as a candidate for his immense size. He weighs in at 343 pounds and stands 6-foot-5. The Cowboys likely would want him to get lighter, but his sheer mass makes him an intriguing prospect.

Sidney Fugar Helped Baylor With a 2024 Turnaround

Fugar made the switch to left tackle at Baylor in 2024, and it’s worth noting for the Cowboys that his positional change went a long way toward turning around a Bear season that had gotten off to a 2-4 start. After moving Fugar to left tackle, the Bears won seven straight games to close the year before losing in their bowl game against LSU.

But Fugar was humble about the notion that he changed the season.

He told the Baylor fan site SicEm365.com, “When people say I shifted the season, I don’t believe that. I believe that all five of us on the offensive line did as a union because I wouldn’t have been successful or we wouldn’t have won any of those games, if I didn’t have those four guys right beside me going through the trials and tribulations of the season. It wasn’t me, it was all of us.”

Cowboys Draft Picks a Sign of O-Line Shake-Up?

The Cowboys, of course, were very focused in the 2026 draft on addressing the team’s defensive needs, which were many after a season in which the Cowboys gave up 511 points, the worst in the NFL. Dallas picked seven new players this week, and five were defensive players.

But if there is a considerable concern on the offensive side of the ball heading into this year, it’s at left tackle, where coach Brian Schottenheimer  has said he is weighing moving Tyler Smith out from guard and benching Tyler Guyton. That was how the line looked to finish the season, though the team is now weighing the benefits of having Smith at tackle, where he is adequate, rather than at guard, where he is excellent.

The first offensive player the Cowboys took was Drew Shelton from Penn State, a left tackle, in the fourth round. It’s a long shot, but Shelton could compete for the starting role and give the Cowboys a nifty solution to the left tackle issue.

It’s an even longer shot to think that Fugar could fit there. But he’s certainly someone who could develop into a depth piece.
