Packers Drama Alert: 3 Teams Told to ‘Throw Hands’ for Romeo Doubs!

The Green Bay Packers have an intriguing wide receiver room. The rise of rookie wideout Matthew Golden, the first player of the position to be taken by Green Bay in the first round of an NFL draft in over two decades, has made the WR depth chart even more interesting. That is not to mention the addition of Mecole Hardman into the mix of Jordan Love’s downfield weaponry.

Amid this wide receiver situation for Green Bay are the trade rumors that Romeo Doubs has been attracting. His name is becoming one of the most talked-about in such topics.

Doubs makes sense as a trade target by at least a few teams. He is still just 25 years old and shouldn’t cost a lot, given the fact that he only has a year left on his current deal. He will earn just a little over $3.4 million in the 2025 NFL season before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2026.

Shane Shoemaker of ClutchPoints mentioned the Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers and the New York Jets as teams that should pursue a trade to acquire Doubs.

“Adding Doubs would give the Vikings an experienced option who has produced in meaningful games and understands the demands of a featured role,” wrote Shoemaker.

For the 49ers, Shoemaker said that “Doubs’ ability to separate quickly would fit neatly into the 49ers’ timing-based passing game, and his toughness across the middle of the field would provide Brock Purdy with another safety valve.”

It is worth noting, however, that the Niners have just acquired wide receiver Skyy Moore via a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday.

As for the Jets, Shoemaker stated that “Doubs would bring an infusion of youth and reliability that the offense desperately needs.”
