The New England Patriots have been the focus of many trade rumors recently. With unhappy players on other teams such as Trey Hendrickson, Micah Parsons, and Terry McLaurin, the Patriots have plenty of capital to make a move for a disgruntled star.

In a press conference a couple of days ago, Patriots Executive Vice President of Player Personnel, Eliot Wolf, stated that New England would be more than willing to deal a second or first round pick for a player worthy of that price tag. This statement had fans everywhere more than excited at the idea of adding a superstar to this New England roster. So who are some interesting trade targets for the Patriots? Let’s dive in.

Trey Hendrickson, Defensive End, Cincinnati Bengals

One of the players that has been linked to the Patriots most recently is Bengals’ defensive end Trey Hendrickson. Hendrickson is one of the league’s best pass rushers, and a sack machine. He would be one of the final pieces of the puzzle for an already talented Patriots’ defense.
New England’s interior defensive line consists of Milton Williams and Christian Barmore, which could turn into one of the best duos in the AFC, and by adding in Hendrickson to the equation, this defensive line could become one of the league’s premiere units.
According to reports, the New England front office has already contacted the Bengals to see what the asking price is for Hendrickson, and so far, the price has been much too high. It is likely that the Bengals will need to lower their asking price in order to move Hendrickson, and if that happens, there is a good chance we could see Hendrickson in Foxborough.

Micah Parsons, Defensive End, Dallas Cowboys

The biggest star by a long shot that has been linked to trade talks, is Micah Parsons. Parsons is arguably the best defensive player in the NFL, and with his recent trade request, it is likely that almost every team is calling Dallas to see the asking price. Parsons is due for a massive new contract, and lucky for New England, they can afford to pay him.

The biggest issue with getting Parsons to Foxborough is going to be the trade price, and getting the Cowboys to actually move on from their best player. However, if Parsons truly becomes available, and doesn’t cost every piece of draft capital you have, then Eliot Wolf should immediately pick up the phone to try and get this superstar.

Terry McLaurin, Wide Receiver, Washington Commanders

Terry McLaurin is another star player that is unhappy with his current contract. McLaurin is a top receiver in the NFL, and he believes he deserves more money and long term security.

Once again, New England has the resources to give him just that. McLaurin would immediately turn the Patriots offense up a notch, and would be massive in the second year leap of quarterback Drake Maye. McLaurin is a number one weapon that opposing defenses need to account for, and this could free up the rest of the offense, allowing Offensive Coordinator Josh McDaniels, to do whatever he pleases with his play calls. If a second or third round pick could get the deal done, then Eliot Wolf should seriously consider bringing McLaurin to New England.
