The Simpsons Predicted Ketel Marte’s Incident with White Sox Fan

How the hell did they do it this time? Sure, this isn’t a beat for beat scene from the show, but The Simpsons pretty much predicted Arizona Diamondbacks star Ketel Marte breaking down into tears after being taunted by a White Sox fan earlier this week at Rate Field.

Marte heard a fan make comments about his mother and whether the fan knew it or not the insult cut deeper as the player’s mom died in a car accident back in 2017. The fan was eventually ejected from Tuesday’s game after Diamondbacks’ manager Torey Lovullo got the attention of security in the ballpark.

Marte did not hold back his emotions and broke down into tears on the field.

Absolutely disgusting.

It is confirmed that a fan yelled something to Ketel Marte about his mother who passed away from a car accident in 2017. https://t.co/zHP0buWAIs

On April 27, 2025, The Simpsons’ episode titled, “Abe League of Their Moe,” aired on FOX and at the 3 minute 15 second mark you see Grandpa Simpson along with Moe taunting a baseball player, who then begins to cry.

Oh, but it gets more detailed. It’s an Arizona Diamondbacks player and on top of that he has a similar complexion to Marte.

The White Sox fan who was thrown out for harassing Marte was also banned by the team from attending another game at their stadium. MLB also stepped in and banned the fan from all 30 ballparks.

A video later surfaced, showing when the fan was being ejected. People have attempted to decipher what he said to Marte.

This is the fan who yesterday in Chicago yelled a remark at the Dbacks’ Ketel Marte about his mother, who sadly passed away in a car accident eight years ago.
He got what he deserved for being a fucking hateful POS.
Now you’re banned for life from every @MLB ballpark. pic.twitter.com/vhiU2zwF4Z
