It’s always fun to see what local broadcasters get up to on their travels to different cities. Take, for instance, what John Schiffren of the Chicago White Sox got up to during a road trip to Toronto.

In response to an on-air dare, he completed the CN Tower’s famous EdgeWalk, which involves leaning out (while strapped to ropes) over the building 116 stories above ground. Schiffren revealed his accomplishment, complete with camera footage, on the Chicago Sports Network pregame show Sunday ahead of the White Sox’s clash with the Blue Jays:

Those are some pretty remarkable images from Schiffren’s time doing this. And while he may have only done this on a dare, it sounds like he enjoyed the experience.

“It is one of the scariest, yet the coolest experiences, I have ever had in my life. …It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. …It is a must-do. It will empower you; you’ll think you’re crazy, but then all of a sudden, you’ll realize, ‘What else can I challenge myself to?’”

Analyst Gordon Beckham doesn’t seem as sold on the idea, saying, “It’s a no for me.”

This walk certainly doesn’t look like everyone’s cup of tea. But it did make for some remarkable pregame footage and photos for Schiffren.
