Texas Longhorns Extend Offer To Son Of Dallas Cowboys Legend – Gridiron Heroics

The Texas Longhorns are coming off of a season that saw them go 10-3 overall and 6-2 in the SEC. While they are expected to, once again, be competitive in 2025, they are always looking to the future, just as all other college football programs are.

Indeed, Texas has a great deal to offer potential recruits as a top team in the most competitive conference in the country and a factory of NFL talent. That being said, they have set their sights on an in-state recruit who will be a familiar name to die-hard fans who also root for the Dallas Cowboys.

The Texas Longhorns Have Extended an Offer to Cooper Witten

According to Jamie Gatlin of Longhorns Wire, Texas has extended an offer to Cooper Witten, the son of Cowboys legend Jason Witten.

Per Gatlin, “Currently, he is ranked as the top linebacker in his class by On3 Rankings. Witten is also ranked as the No. 19 player in the nation and the No. 5 player in Texas. Adding him to the mix would give the Longhorns a massive boost and future star.”

Obviously, adding the top player at any position in any year is a dream for every college football program. The fact that Witten is the son of a legendary player who spent 16 years carving out a Hall of Fame-worthy career in the state of Texas is an added bonus, and could give them an upper hand in recruiting the stud linebacker.

And they will need any leverage they can get. Gatlin reports that a plethora of schools are also interested in Witten, which should come as no surprise as he is the top linebacker in the class of 2027.

These other schools include Oregon, SMU, Arizona State, Baylor, Notre Dame, and Michigan, all of whom have also extended offers. Other schools with whom Witten has scheduled visits are Oklahoma, LSU, Arkansas, and Texas A&M.

Witten’s father Jason attended college at Tennessee.

Aiyuk’s “$70M? KEEP IT!” Loyalty Nuke: Snubs Jaw-Dropping Offer to Vow “I’ll Die a 49ers Legend”

In a moment that instantly ignited headlines across the league, Brandon Aiyuk delivered one of the most powerful and unexpected declarations of loyalty the modern NFL has witnessed. At a time when star players are chasing bigger contracts, larger guarantees, and increasingly aggressive market valuations, Aiyuk stood in front of cameras, reporters, and stunned executives and uttered the sentence no one saw coming: “Keep it. I will die a 49er legend.” Those words, simple yet seismic, hit the NFL landscape like a thunderbolt. According to team insiders, Aiyuk was presented with a blockbuster $70 million offer—an offer that analysts widely assumed would be the foundation of his long-term future, whether in San Francisco or another major franchise desperate for a top-tier offensive weapon. Yet Aiyuk didn’t even blink. Instead of leveraging the moment for negotiations, he used it to send a statement that transcended money, contracts, and the transactional nature of professional sports. What followed was a wave of NFL analysts left speechless, fans roaring across social media, and former players praising a decision that seemed to come from another era—an era when identity meant something, when legacy meant more than numbers on a page, and when players fought not only for championships but for the crest on their helmet.
