Chiefs Patrick Mahomes Disrespected In NFL QB Power Rankings

Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes might have just gotten the ultimate bulletin board material for 2025.

The Kansas City Chiefs have many doubters entering the 2025 season, largely due to the Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

With Patrick Mahomes running for his life, the Chiefs were curb-stomped and now, the aura of the franchise might be starting to disappear.

When it comes to Mahomes, he is still largely considered to be the best quarterback in football, but in a similar vein to his team, the Super Bowl loss, for some reason, has some questioning No. 15.

And in CBS Sports’ latest quarterback power rankings, Mahomes comes in at No. 6 as the champ falls down the pecking order.

“Was Mahomes’ ugly Super Bowl showing an anomaly, or clear evidence his increasing dependence on last-minute heroics isn’t as sustainable as it once was for Kansas City?”, CBS Sports writes. “A healthier pass-catching corps should help, but his leaky O-line still has questions. There’s no denying No. 15 is still the most trustworthy signal-caller in the game, but he’s now proven vulnerable twice on the big stage.”

Above Patrick are Josh Allen (5), Lamar Jackson (4), Joe Burrow (3), Jalen Hurts (2), and Jayden Daniels (1).

Looking at that group, is is considered to be the best of the best, and after a year that saw Mahomes win more regular season games than any, and make the Super Bowl after beating Allen, before losing to Hurts, even with the 2025 outlook for the Chiefs, Mahomes likely deserves to be higher.

Now, what one of the best quarterbacks in football didn’t need from a league-wide perspective was a chip on his shoulder to prove everyone wrong.

And this list has likely done just that with Mahomes getting the ultimate bulletin board material as he continues offseason workouts.

Let the revenge tour begin.
