Plainville native Jared Casey accepts Chiefs rookie minicamp invite

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Jared Casey has gone from a high school standout in Plainville, Kansas to a walk-on sensation at the University of Kansas. Now as his career as a Jayhawk has come to a close, he will get an opportunity to prove himself at the next level. Casey confirmed to 12 News Sunday that he has accepted a rookie minicamp invite from the Kansas City Chiefs.

This past season with KU, Casey posted a 200+ yard season for the 2nd time in his career. He tallied a total of 10 touchdowns during his collegiate career including the now-famous walk-off touchdown over Texas in 2021.

Chiefs rookie minicamp will take place this summer as Casey and other first-year players will begin to compete for the opportunity for a roster spot.
