Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are hoping to work their way back to the Super Bowl once again in 2025. After suffering a blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last year in the big game, the team has been very active this offseason.
Being able to keep both offensive lineman Trey Smith and linebacker Nick Bolton were both huge moves for the Chiefs. Both players have been key pieces of the team’s success in recent years.
Other key offseason moves were the signings of defensive tackle Jerry Tillery, cornerback Kristian Fulton, running back Elijah Mitchell, and offensive tackle Jaylon Moore.
While they have already made some important additions, could Kansas City make another big-time free agency move? How about bringing in another weapon for Mahomes?
Kansas City Chiefs Linked to Making Huge $11.1 Million Move for Playmaker
David Latham of Last Word on Sports has suggested Kansas City as a potential suitor for veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen, who remains available on the open market.
Investing in Mahomes is always a wise decision. Allen would be a nice addition for the offense who could play well alongside Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Hollywood Brown.
Allen would be able to carve out a role for himself. He could even end up becoming Mahomes’ favorite target. That is the kind of player he has been throughout his career.
During his lone season with the Chicago Bears in 2024, Allen caught 70 passes for 744 yards and seven touchdowns. Back in 2023 with the Los Angeles Chargers, he caught 108 passes for 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns.
Spotrac has listed Allen’s projected market value at around $11.1 million. That price tag might be above what the Chiefs are willing to pay, but they’re a team to keep an eye on.
While Kansas City does not have a huge need for a wide receiver, Allen could provide Mahomes with even more help and might help the offense become even more dangerous in 2025.
