Ranking the greatest quarterbacks of all-time: Here’s where Aaron Rodgers currently ranks on the list | CBS Sports
7. Patrick Mahomes
One of just two active players on this list, Mahomes is more than deserving of his top-10 position. The 29-year-old is already a two-time league and three-time Super Bowl MVP. He has an astonishing 106-27 record as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback that includes a 17-4 postseason mark. Mahomes’ five Super Bowl starts is tied with John Elway for the second-most in history.
2025 NFL Free Agency: Grading Every AFC Team’s Early Haul | The 33rd Team
Kansas City Chiefs
Grade: C
It’s hard to be critical of a team that consistently goes to Super Bowls, but the Kansas City Chiefs haven’t improved this offseason, at least so far.
In fact, the Chiefs lost multiple key starters in free agency, starting with a trade that sent veteran guard Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears. Other departures included Justin Reid, Tershawn Wharton, Derrick Nnadi, DeAndre Hopkins, and Justin Watson, with few incoming moves to replace all of that talent.
One of the Chiefs’ biggest concerns going forward is their lack of offensive line depth, and losing a key starter like Thuney doesn’t improve that situation. Patrick Mahomes will always give the Chiefs a chance, but they really need a strong 2025 draft class to stay the favorites in the AFC going forward.

31. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: EDGE JAMES PEARCE JR., TENNESSEE
Key Stat: Pearce recorded pressure on 22.4% of his pass-rush snaps over the past two seasons, the fourth-best rate in the FBS.
Bottom Line: Pearce is the kind of athlete with the production and disruption scores you don’t let out of the first round. His twitchy movements show difference-making NFL traits that can be situational at worst and All-Pro at best.
Trump plans to invite 2019 Chiefs to White House after pandemic prevented Super Bowl visit | The Athletic
“I look forward to having the Eagles, and one other thing: We’re going to have the Kansas City Chiefs after that, because they missed their turn because of COVID,” Trump said during an interview with Outkick’s Clay Travis aboard Air Force One. No date has been officially given for the team’s visit. The organization has not yet been invited, according to a team source.
The Chiefs declined The Athletic’s request for comment.
Multiple teams passed on the traditional post-championship celebration at the White House during Trump’s first term. Trump canceled a 2018 visit with the Eagles following their Super Bowl LII victory, saying in a statement at the time that some team members disagreed with his view that they “proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart.” The team did not confirm that as a reason for the cancellation, following reports that the Eagles planned to send only a small contingent for the visit. The Golden State Warriors decided not to visit the White House after winning the NBA championship in 2017, with Trump subsequently announcing the withdrawal of the invitation via a post on Twitter.

Xavier Worthy sues his ex-fiancé, Tia Jones, for extortion and other claims | NBC Sports
Worthy claims that the relationship changed after Worthy learned she had allegedly cheated on him. Worthy then asked her “repeatedly” to leave their home.
Worthy claims she destroyed his game room on March 7, that she scratched his face, and that she ripped chunks of hair from his head. She then, per Worthy’s allegations, concocted a claim of physical abuse.
Worthy also accuses Jones of stealing or destroying more than $150,000 worth of cash and property from his residence while he was in police custody.
He seeks more than $250,000 in damages from Jones. Regardless of whether she has the resources to satisfy a judgment that large, Worthy might view the litigation as a way to get her to stop doing whatever she has allegedly been doing.

Rams WR Puka Nacua, 23, says he wants to retire at 30 | ESPN
“I know I want to retire at the age of 30,” Nacua said. “I’m 23 right now, I’m going into Year 3 — it wouldn’t even be 10 years. It’d be maybe seven or eight. I think of Aaron Donald, to go out at the top, I think it would be super cool.”
Donald, the former Rams defensive tackle, retired in March 2024 after 10 seasons and is a future Hall of Famer. A three-time Defensive Player of the Year and a Super Bowl champion, Donald said at the time of his retirement that his NFL career felt “complete.”
Nacua — who has five siblings — also noted that he hopes to have “a big family,” saying, “I want to be able to be a part of their lives and be as active as I can with them.”

Chiefs News: Mike Pennel returns to the club for 2025
Pennel, 33, entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of CSU Pueblo following the conclusion of the 2014 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-4, 330-pound defensive tackle was a key addition for the Chiefs midway through the 2019 season as the team defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.
Pennel left the club in 2021 to join the Chicago Bears, and he bounced from the Bears to the Atlanta Falcons and back to the Bears before landing with the Chiefs for his second stint in October of 2023. In Kansas City’s four playoff games, Pennel recorded 12 tackles, including six in the team’s Super Bowl LVIII win over the 49ers.
The run-stuffer appeared in all 17 games for the Chiefs in 2024, playing 30% of the snaps. Pennel rounds out a Kansas City defensive line room that recently added defensive tackle Jerry Tillery and brought back defensive lineman Charles Omenihu.
