That moment seemed to flip a switch for Walker. He was visibly at ease, grinning with newfound confidence.

Walker’s journey back to form hasn’t been without its hurdles. He struggled at the plate over the past two seasons and didn’t shine during most of spring training.

But sometimes, it only takes one breakthrough moment to change everything. From that point forward, Walker was locked in.

He homered during the Cardinals’ first homestand and unleashed a powerful grand slam in Detroit. His performance has placed him among Cardinals legends like Albert Pujols, Scott Rolen, Mark McGwire, and Stan Musial.

Walker is now reminiscent of his 2023 rookie season, a year when he was a rare bright spot for a Cardinals team that finished at the bottom of the NL Central with a 71-91 record.
