Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has emphasized the need for greater consistency in the team’s running game, pointing out its crucial role in unlocking the full potential of the offense. Speaking to the media recently, Prescott underscored how a robust ground attack can pave the way for more effective play-action passing and overall offensive efficiency.

“We’ve got to get more consistent running the ball,” Prescott stated. “When you have that, the rest of the offense can open up. I’ve always enjoyed play-action pass, but it all starts with the run game.”

Prescott’s comments come as the Cowboys prepare for the upcoming season under the guidance of their new offensive coordinator, Brian Schottenheimer. Known for his emphasis on the running game, Schottenheimer’s arrival has generated optimism among the Cowboys’ ranks. Prescott expressed his excitement about the new coaching hire and the potential improvements it could bring to the team’s ground attack.

There is an uphill battle in the NFC East

The Cowboys faced challenges with their running game last season, struggling to find a consistent rhythm with a running back by committee approach.

Prescott believes that a more reliable running game could be the key to unlocking the team’s offensive potential. “We just got to get to running the ball, being a little bit more consistent on that,” Prescott added. “Then, from there, go back and look at the numbers.”

As the Cowboys gear up for the new season, Prescott’s focus on improving the running game will be a critical factor in their offensive strategy. With Schottenheimer’s expertise and Prescott’s leadership, the team is hopeful that they can achieve the consistency needed to make a deep playoff run.

The Cowboys’ success in the upcoming season may hinge on their ability to establish a strong and consistent running game. Prescott’s emphasis on this aspect of the offense highlights its importance in the team’s overall strategy and their ambitions for a successful season.
