Cowboys Ex Kellen Moore and Family Go Viral in Saints Move

Dallas Cwboys ex Kellen Moore had a short but spectacular run with the Philadelphia Eagles, no doubt … capped by a 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs

FRISCO – Kellen Moore is just 36 years old, but he’s been a “head coach in waiting” for quiet some time, a thought attached to him when he finished his career as a backup QB with the Dallas Cowboys before becoming the quarterbacks coach in 2018.

and now, less than 48 hours after he ended up winning a ring for his work in Super Bowl LIX with the Philadelphia Eagles, Moore has agreed to a deal that will make him the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints. …

With photos of his arrival in The Big Easy, as he is joined by his lovely family, now going viral.

Moore had a short but spectacular run with the Eagles, no doubt … capped by a 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Over the course of his one season in Philly, his offense ranked second in the NFL in rushing yards per game while riding Saquon Barkley. Before that, of course, in Dallas, he worked under Jason Garrett and then Mike McCarthy and supervised one of the NFL’s most productive offenses with Dak Prescott under center.

The hope for New Orleans is that he’ll return that team to its title days … though the build might be a lengthy one.

“At the start of the interview process, it was important to find a head coach who was the right fit for the New Orleans Saints organization,” Saints owner Gayle Benson said. “Through the search process, it became clear that Kellen is the right person to help us re-establish a winning program and culture that our fans are accustomed to and have come to expect.”

On Tuesday afternoon, Moore, his wife, Julie, and the kids took a private plane to New Orleans … and yes, the adorable family is now the centerpiece of photos going viral.

Moore is one of college football’s all-time greats as a result of his record-setting time with Boise State. A coach’s son, he’s long been thought of as “the smartest guy in the room” and was a finalist for the head coaching job in Dallas before team owner passed on hiring his former offensive coordinator to instead promote the incumbent at that position, Brian Schottenheimer.

After spending four seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Cowboys, Moore was sort of elbowed out by McCarthy (who wanted to serve as his own play-caller, replacing Kellen) … so he joined the Chargers in 2023.

And now he makes the leap to the big chair.

“I am excited to join the New Orleans Saints and deeply appreciate the faith that Mrs. Benson and the entire Saints organization have placed in me,” Moore said in a press release. “I look forward to embracing the challenges ahead and am eager to get started.”
