🚨 REPORT: WHITE SOX DEAL A BLOW WITH CHRIS MURPHY’S ELBOW INJURY, a sudden setback that now threatens to derail their pitching rotation for the next crucial stretch. What was supposed to be a key part of their staff is now sidelined, and fans are growing anxious as the team navigates yet another injury crisis. Will this be the start of a downward spiral, or can they regroup and push forward? The clock is ticking for the White Sox to stay in the race👇👇👇

WHITE SOX PLACE LEFT-HANDER CHRIS MURPHY ON 15-DAY INJURED LIST

CHICAGO, IL – The Chicago White Sox have placed left-handed reliever Chris Murphy on the 15-day injured list due to left elbow impingement syndrome, as announced on Thursday. The move is retroactive to Wednesday, marking a setback for the 27-year-old pitcher in his first season with the team.

Murphy’s injury follows a performance on Tuesday, where he allowed one run on one hit and one walk in two-thirds of an inning during a 4-2 loss to the Baltimore Orioles. On the season, Murphy has made six relief appearances, posting a 1-0 record with one save, a 10.50 ERA, five walks, and six strikeouts in six innings of work. The White Sox acquired Murphy from the Boston Red Sox on November 18, 2025, in exchange for minor league catcher Ronny Hernandez.

Murphy had previously shown promise in the majors, recording a 4.15 ERA and 79 strikeouts in 82.1 innings for the Red Sox across two seasons (2023 and 2025). His development was delayed in 2024 due to Tommy John surgery, but he was expected to provide the White Sox with an important left-handed bullpen option.

WHITE SOX MAKE ROSTER MOVES TO ADJUST

In response to Murphy’s injury, the White Sox made several roster moves. Brandon Eisert and Duncan Davitt were recalled from Triple-A Charlotte, while Tyler Schweitzer was optioned to Charlotte.

Eisert, 28, brings experience as a reliever with a 4.36 ERA and 29 walks over 76.1 innings in the majors, including time with both the Toronto Blue Jays and the White Sox.

Schweitzer, 25, made his MLB debut on Wednesday and appeared in relief during a 5-3 loss to the Orioles, giving up one run on two hits, one walk, and one strikeout in 1.1 innings. His brief stint in the majors comes after he was called up for his first action with the big league team.

Davitt, 26, has yet to make his MLB debut but is considered an intriguing prospect. Drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 18th round of the 2022 MLB Draft, he was traded to the White Sox in July 2025.

LOOKING AHEAD FOR THE WHITE SOX

Murphy’s injury leaves the White Sox looking for other options to fill his role in the bullpen, especially as they navigate a challenging early part of the season. While his performance had been inconsistent, losing a key reliever adds to the pressure for Chicago, which has already faced injuries to its pitching staff.

The White Sox are hopeful that Murphy will recover soon and return to the mound in a timely manner. For now, the bullpen will rely on the newly recalled players like Eisert and Davitt to step up in his absence. The team will need them to provide solid relief performances as they continue their campaign in the 2026 MLB season.
