Alex Bregman Trade Rumors: Ranking The Top 3 Landing Spots For The Astros Star As Free Agency Looms

All you need to know about Alex Bregman's trade rumors

Alex Bregman will be one of the top free agents this season, alongside Juan Soto and many others. Bregman has been a bright spot for the Houston Astors, especially after winning two World Series titles with his team.

Bregman is one of the four remaining players who won the World Series with the Astros in 2017 and 2022. The 30-year-old put up some good numbers in his 2024 season. Bregman smashed 26 home runs and 75 RBIs, with a batting clip of .260. That said, several teams will look to acquire the third baseman.

Alex Bregman’s Top 3 Landing Spots

3)New York Yankees

Although the New York Yankees will try to retain Juan Soto, the chances of them missing out on the star slugger can not be entirely ruled out. So, the Yankees will need to pay a huge sum for Soto, and several teams are ready to beat their offer.

If the Yanks fail to sign Soto, Bregman would be one of the best options to consider. The Astros might not like to trade their top players to their AL East rival.

However, if they are unable to strike a deal, the Yanks can use Bregman. Another interesting factor that might want them to consider Bregman is if they fail to extend Gleyber Torres.

2) Detroit Tigers

The Tigers shocked everyone by making it to the playoffs. They had a low payroll but developed into one of the best teams. A.J. Hinch will undoubtedly want to expand his team with some extra firearms.

Bregman would make sense for the Tigers, especially since they are expected to make the playoffs again in 2025. It also makes sense for Bregman to move to the AL Central rather than play for their AL East rival.

1) Seattle Mariners

The Mariners failed to make the playoffs in 2024, and the only way to qualify for the next season is by shaking things up. Seattle parted ways with Scott Servais and replaced him with Dan Wilson as their new manager.

Wilson must have a plan in place to lead his team to the postseason. The Mariners need extra arms at the plate. Closing in on a deal with Bregman from their own division makes perfect sense. Bregman would be an ideal fit for Seattle or any of the above-mentioned teams.
