For those wondering why such ads are being aired during the Fall Classic, the explanation is simple. As FOX announces before the playing of the commercials, they’re required by federal law “to accept and broadcast political advertisements” for federal candidates. Per the Associated Press, the 2024 World Series averaged 14.42 million viewers over Games 1-3. That marks the highest number since 2017, when the Dodgers faced the Houston Astros.
