Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs’ $120,000 Gifts for Travis Kelce Revealed

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce was the victim of a burglary in his Leawood, Kansas home on Oct. 7, just hours before their game against the New Orleans Saints. The All-Pro tight end reportedly lost an assortment of valuable items, which included his Super Bowl jersey from the Chiefs’ first trip to the championship game back in 2019 when they defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 31-20, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Kelce has since taken extreme measures to beef up his security and ensure that another break-in does not happen again. At the same time, however, there have been no reports indicating that the nine-time Pro Bowler has recovered the priceless memorabilia he lost during the robbery.

In this light, Patrick Mahomes and the rest of his Chiefs teammates did all they could to try and recoup Kelce’s lost belongings. While it would be virtually impossible to replace each item exactly, Mahomes and Co. put in a real effort to make Kelce feel better amid the unfortunate turn of events.

According to a new report by The U.S. Sun, Kelce “received a box after a team meeting and was told to open it immediately.” In it, “he found some incredible replacements for the collection he loved so dearly.” This reportedly includes jerseys from the likes of Rob Lewis, Rob Gronkowski and even the great Tom Brady. Mahomes, whose Belton, Missouri estate was also robbed within hours of Kelce’s home burglary, also donated one of his own jerseys as part of the surprise package.

Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, reportedly chipped in by tapping his contacts with the Philadelphia Eagles to get that Barkley jersey. “He opened the box and felt like a kid at Christmas,” the source told The U.S. Sun. “… They are going straight to his man cave, where he loves to hang out. Those pieces are going to be so special for him.

“Travis couldn’t stop saying thank you to everyone.” Kelce’s teammates, family and friends were well aware of the fact that he was “very pissed” about losing some of his most valuable possessions in the burglary, which was what motivated this kind gesture. According to The U.S. Sun, the surprise package contained around 15 jerseys worth $120,000 in total.
