The Buffalo Bills’ wide receiver corps has been a hot topic in recent seasons, with fans and analysts alike scrutinizing every move. But as we look ahead, it seems that Josh Allen might finally have a squad capable of making a serious Super Bowl run.
With the addition of D.J. Moore joining forces with Khalil Shakir, Joshua Palmer, Keon Coleman, and Tyrell Shavers, the Bills have assembled a group that could very well be the key to unlocking Allen’s full potential. This lineup has the makings of a formidable unit, one that Allen can definitely work with to chase the Lombardi Trophy.
However, not everyone is convinced that this receiver group is set in stone. There’s been chatter about the possibility of Joshua Palmer being on the move post-June 1, with Kristopher Knox from Bleacher Report suggesting potential interest from teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders.
Now, trading Palmer after just one season? That seems a bit unexpected.
The Bills have been working to bolster their receiving options, and letting go of Palmer might undermine that effort. Sure, a post-June 1 trade could save the Bills $10 million while incurring just $1 million in dead money.
But the real question is, who would be willing to part with draft picks for a player who managed just 303 yards on 22 receptions last season? It’s a tough sell.
Palmer’s inaugural year in Buffalo was marred by injuries, which makes the case for giving him another shot even stronger. Considering the Bills’ past challenges at the receiver position, moving on from Palmer might not be the wisest decision.
The financial savings could be tempting, but with the current landscape, finding a game-changing replacement isn’t likely in 2026. Keeping Palmer in the fold could be the more strategic play for a team with championship aspirations.
