🚨 BEFORE THE FIRST PITCH: Cam Schlittler Receives Death Threats Ahead of Fenway Start — A Night That Suddenly Feels Different 👇 From Game Day to Real Fear: What Should Be Routine Turned Personal — And It’s Casting a Shadow Over Everything.

Cam Schlittler Receives Death Threats Ahead of Fenway Start

Cam Schlittler announced himself as one of the best young starting pitchers in the MLB with an excellent rookie campaign with the New York Yankees last year. Moreover, the 25-year-old from Massachusetts became a fan favorite after his outstanding playoff outing against the Boston Red Sox. Therefore, Schlitter is now in the thick of the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry.

On Friday, Cam Schlittler will be the starting pitcher for the New York Yankees in the final clash of their three-game series against the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees’ right-hander told Joel Sherman of The New York Post that he and his family are receiving disturbing messages on social media. These even include death threats, although Schlitter deems them to be serious.

“Most normal fans could care less, right?,” he told Sherman. “It’s just those diehards that just have nothing else in their lives other than baseball or sports that really care about this, and the fact that I play for the Yankees makes it worse for them.”

Cam Schlittler grew up in Walpole, Massachusetts, and was a Red Sox fan before being drafted by the Yankees in 2022. He seems to have a clear understanding of the security concerns, as his father is the chief of police in Needham, Norfolk County.

Cam Schlitter Not Nervous About First Outing At Fenway Park

Despite receiving threats to his security online, Cam Schlitter is not afraid to go to Fenway Park to see the New York Yankees, as most of the home fans he encountered were friendly. Nevertheless, he expects a hostile response from the Boston Red Sox during the game.

“It’s gonna be bad. It’s gonna be bad. I’m not nervous about it. But it’s gonna be loud,” Schlittler said. “They’re gonna probably have dudes that are my age or a little bit younger, sitting right outside the bullpen, yelling, whatever, probably throwing stuff at me, trying to grab me. That’s kind of what I expect. So I know the guys are excited for it, and I’m excited for it.”

Cam Schlittler pitched eight scoreless innings at Yankee Stadium in Game 3 of the Wild Card Series against the Red Sox last year. He has a 2-1 record for the season with a 1.95 ERA from 27.2 innings and 30 strikeouts.
