Jerry Jones commits hundreds of millions to upgrade one of the NFL’s most iconic venues — and the results are already turning heads.
ARLINGTON, Texas — One of the most recognizable stadiums in all of professional sports is getting a serious facelift, and Dallas Cowboys fans have every reason to be excited.
The Dallas Cowboys have announced approximately $350 million in upgrades to AT&T Stadium, aimed at keeping the 14-year-old venue modern and world-class ahead of hosting FIFA World Cup matches in 2026.
Owner Jerry Jones made the vision clear in a statement: “The vision to create, operate and maintain AT&T Stadium as the world’s best venue of its kind is something that was accomplished by always having an eye to the future.”
What’s Changing Inside Jerry World?
The upgrades won’t radically alter the general look and feel of the iconic stadium, but will significantly upgrade technology, refurbish premium spaces, and update back-of-house services throughout the facility.
At least $180 million of the renovation budget is dedicated to upgrading premium clubs, suites, and corridors — covering 575,000 square feet — with high-end interior finishes and cutting-edge technology.
The most significant structural change involves the playing field itself, which will be fully rebuilt to accommodate FIFA regulations, including the installation of a complex natural grass system.
A Stadium Built for Historic Moments
AT&T Stadium is a retractable-roof venue in Arlington, Texas, that serves as the home of the Dallas Cowboys and has been used for concerts, basketball, soccer, college football, rodeos, and professional wrestling since opening in 2009.
The stadium can typically hold 80,000 fans but is expandable to over 105,000 for special events — a capacity that makes it one of the most versatile large-scale venues in the United States.
