While the rumor mill has churned out the Minnesota Vikings as a potential destination for Tagovailoa, it’s important to clarify that this is mostly speculative chatter.

At the recent 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, insights from NBC Sports’ Matthew Berry have shed light on the situation. Berry reports that the Vikings are not interested in pursuing Tagovailoa once he hits the market this offseason. Instead, Minnesota seems to be exploring other quarterback options, with names like Kyler Murray, Geno Smith, Kirk Cousins, Aaron Rodgers, Mac Jones, Malik Willis, and Joe Flacco being considered.

So, why are the Vikings steering clear of Tagovailoa? A key factor is the history between Tagovailoa and Minnesota’s defensive coordinator, Brian Flores.
