Green Bay Packers’ $67 Million Star Is Leading In Pro Bowl Votes Of His Position Amid Superb Debut Season

The Green Bay Packers are poised to make it to the playoffs because of their two big offseason additions Xavier McKinney and Josh Jacobs, who are some of the top vote-getters of their respective positions in the upcoming Pro Bowl.

According to Jon Machota of The Athletic via X (formerly known as Twitter), Xavier McKinney is the leading vote-getter in the free safety position. At the same time, Josh Jacobs is fourth in the running back position.

Xavier McKinney joined the Green Bay Packers in the offseason via a four-year, $67 million deal after spending the first four years of his NFL career with the New York Giants. The former Alabama standout has drastically improved the team’s secondary because he is tied for the league’s most interceptions with seven.

The 26-year-old does more for the defense than just taking picks, as McKinney also has 63 tackles and one sack. According to Pro Football Reference, Xavier McKinney has missed only three tackles so far this season, and his completion percentage and passer rating when targeted is just 56 and 47.2 percent, respectively. He also was the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 5.

Xavier McKinney speaks out on the Green Bay Packers-Detroit Lions rematch

On Sunday, Xavier McKinney recently spoke to reporters before their rematch against the Detroit Lions. The 26-year-old said it is undoubtedly a big game for them because this is their chance to take their revenge. It has been a month since the Detroit Lions beat the Green Bay Packers 24-14 at Lambeau Field.

“This game is important. I understand that. We understand that as a team. We got a tough division. We understand what’s on the line. We’re going to get ready, prepare the right way, and be ready to go come Thursday,” McKinney said.

McKinney only had six combined tackles against the Detroit Lions, and he’ll aim to have a better outing when they face them again on the road.
