The Miami Dolphins have officially found their new head coach. Former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley will be leading Miami from the sidelines in 2026 and beyond.

Hafley has an extensive coaching background, including being the head coach at Boston College and a defensive position coach for a number of NFL teams.

Two-time Super Bowl champion Logan Ryan attributed Hafley with his collegiate success at Rutgers, and predicted that he would be hired as a head coach this upcoming cycle.

In an interview with Ari Meirov, Ryan spoke about Hafley’s mentorship and spoke about his success stories, such as himself and Darelle Revis at Pitt.

“You see what he did last year with the Packer defense. Now with Micah Parsons, I think Jeff Halfley is going to be the hottest coach in the NFL this offseason. He really gets the best.
He coached Darrelle Revis in college. He coached me. And not that I’m Darrelle Revis or anything like that, but I was really struggling to figure out what I was good at,” Ryan told Meirov.

“And he found that fire in me, and really a big credit to my playing style and how I was able to be productive and versatile was what Halfley told me was to use my superpower, which is my IQ and use my instincts, trust your instincts. And when you have a boss that believes in you and wants you to be you, I really think that made a difference.”

Hafley likely will be building things from the ground up in Miami and have the chance to put his imprint on the roster.

If he can do half of what he did with Ryan and Darrelle Revis, the Dolphins should be in great hands.
